What is Co-Location What is Mbit

Co-location is when you need to host your own equipment of any kind. You can host servers, routers, switches, dial-in equipment, faxmodems, PCs, Macs or in other words anything that fits in your space. You pay for the space you use and the amount of bandwidth you require. We provide you with a standard 100mbit ethernet cable and IP addresses then you can install what you want. We charge in what is called 1mbit per month and you can upgrade up to 100mbit without system changes.

Mbit is the standard used for professional co-location companies to measure the amount of data you can transfer.

Mbits equal 1 million bits
1 Byte = 8 bits
KB = 1024 bytes
MB = 1,000,000 bytes
GB = 1,000,000,000 bytes

To calculate how much data you can transfer with 1mbit using 100% data usage.

Per second 1mbit/8=125kb
Per minute 60x125kb=7.5mb
Per hour 60x7.5mb=450mb
Per day 24x450mb = 10.8gb
Per month 30x10.8 = 324gb

YOU COULD TRANSFER UP TO
324GB PER MONTH PROVIDED YOU USED 100% CAPACITY OR 162GB IF USED 50%
